Japanese trading company is seeking New Business Development Manager!


Position Summary:

Position is multi-faceted with primary focus on generating new business, while maintaining current customers. Create new business opportunities based on market trends; grow business with existing customers; find market niches and sales opportunities which utilize products manufactured by our companies, as well as utilize the our relationship with joint venture companies. Assist with design and specifications for customer application.


Essential Functions:
Identify and qualify new business opportunities which are well aligned with our group manufacturing and global network capabilities
Research organizations and individuals to find new business opportunities
Increase the value of current customers while attracting new customers
Contact potential customers to establish rapport and arrange meetings
Responsible for the sales and profitability for customers, along with establishing and maintaining long-term relationships
Create, maintain, and monitor forecasts for customers
Negotiate with customers and vendors for price, delivery, terms and conditions
Prepare develop and conduct sales presentations; prepare quotations and formal business proposals; administer business, non-disclosure, and intellectual property agreements; update sales and BOM database
Perform regular communication and on-site surveys with customers to ensure service meets customer requirements
Work as liaison between our companies and customers to ensure high level of service
Develop and implement sales strategies for electronic components, sub-assemblies and complete peripherals
Promote worldwide factories for EMS and as sub-contractor for electronic assemblies and finished products
Find and develop new markets to utilize our EMS capabilities and global network
Analyze product trends and usage, costing and market competition
Attend various trade shows or industry events to understand current trends and technologies

Supplemental Functions:
Support ISO and JSOX programs
Other duties or special projects may be assigned from time to time

General Qualifications:
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, Engineering, or comparable experience with electronics
Minimum 3 years sales experience in electronics industry
Ability to manage complex projects and multi-task
Excellent organizational skills
Ability to communicate (orally and in writing) in a professional and concise manner when dealing with employees, customers, vendors and Company contacts
Competent computer skills required to perform the essential functions of the position, including proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook, Internet, etc.
Well developed presentation skills
Excellent customer relation skills
Marketing and market planning knowledge
Ability to flourish with minimal guidance, be proactive, and handle uncertainty
Proven ability to develop new business strategies
Ability to travel 50% of the time

Physical Qualifications:
While performing the duties of this job, the employee is required to do detailed work using arms, hands and fingers to manipulate the required office equipment (desktop or laptop computer, and other office machines or equipment)

Good eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity is needed
