Japanese trading company in Elk Grove Village is seeking Sales Assistant Manager! (Elk grove village IL or Northville, MI)

Position Summary:

A global business organizer and EMS (electronic manufacturing services) provider with many locations around the world. Our company offers engineered solutions for customer needs including electronics manufacturing services, procurement, assembly, prototype design, logistics and Vendor Managed Inventory.

Position Summary:
This position is responsible for end-to-end activities, including quoting assembling product cost estimates based on customer drawings, discussing and negotiating with customers to win new business, building the supply chain for awarded programs, supporting NPI (New Product Introduction), and developing new customers. Experience in costing or purchasing within an EMS (Electronic Manufacturing Services) company is required.

Essential Functions:
Prepare product cost estimates based on customer drawings
Request quotations from electronic component suppliers based on customer drawings
Select and establish the optimal supply chain based on inquiry requirements
Prepare quotations to customers by consolidating pricing information
Discuss and negotiate with customers to win new business
Coordinate and negotiate with EMS facilities to ensure a smooth launch of awarded programs
Develop new customers and generate new inquiries
Communicate and collaborate with customers, suppliers, colleagues and management

Qualifications:
Experience in costing or purchasing within an EMS company
Excel proficiency (VLOOKUP, PIVOT tables, etc.)
Communication: strong verbal and written skills
Organization: multitasking skills to handle urgent order changes and logistics issues
EMS and Electronic component Knowledge: ability to learn and explain product specifications.
Problem-Solving: ability to resolve order discrepancies and logistics delays.
Ability to communicate orally and in writing in a professional and concise manner
Ability to maintain composure under pressure
Ability to work in a culturally diverse environment
Physical ability to lift packages of up to 30 lbs.
